UNDERSTANDING QADR

Qadr is the decree of Allah(S.W) is one of the pillars of Faith(Iman). Allah azzawajallah has absolute power & sovereignty over all  creation. Our destiny was decreed for us even before we were born. The angels are sent to announce four decrees while you are still a flesh in your mother’s womb. These include;

We are set upon a path, with our fate ahead of us as soon as we enter this world. Since Allah is in control of our destiny, the only way to secure a good fate is to appeal to Allah through Worship,Prayer and Good Deeds. We have no control by ourselves.

The prophet(P.B.U.H) said “Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you. If you ask, ask from Allah, if you seek help seek from Allah. Know that if the nations gather together to benefit you, they will not benefit you unless Allah has decreed it for you. And if the nations gather together to harm you, they will not harm you unless Allah has decreed it for you.”

Ibn ʿAbbās (rA) said:
Verily, good deeds bring brightness upon the face, a light in the heart, an expanse of provision, strength in the body, and love in the hearts of the creation. And evil deeds bring blackness upon the face, darkness in the grave and in the heart, weakness in the body, a restriction of provision, and hatred in the hearts of the creation.

While all things have already been decreed from eternity, Allah(S.W) has the power to change destiny based upon the choices we make.
