📜 1. Limitations in Worship (Ibadah)

  • Balanced devotion: Islam encourages regular worship but warns against excess. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Do not exaggerate in religion…” (Hadith – Sunan Ibn Majah).
  • Overburdening oneself spiritually is discouraged; everything has a balance.

⚖️ 2. Limits in Behavior and Ethics

  • Backbiting, lying, cheating are strictly forbidden.
  • Justice and honesty are core. Even in war or disputes, ethical boundaries must be respected.
  • Islam sets limits on anger, pride, and greed—spiritual diseases that harm relationships and society.

💰 3. Limits in Wealth and Spending

  • Islam allows earning wealth but discourages:
    • Hoarding
    • Extravagance (Israaf)
    • Riba (interest)
  • Zakat (charity) is mandatory to redistribute wealth and limit inequality.

👫 4. Limitations in Gender Interactions

  • Guidelines exist for modesty, interaction between genders, and maintaining public decency.
  • These aren’t meant to oppress, but to protect dignity and prevent exploitation.

🍷 5. Limits on Consumption

  • Certain items are haram (forbidden): alcohol, pork, intoxicants, etc.
  • Even halal things are to be consumed in moderation.

🛑 6. Limits in Law and Punishment (Hudud)

  • Islamic law has prescribed punishments, but they’re surrounded by strict rules of evidence and high standards.
  • Mercy is encouraged whenever possible (especially in personal grievances).

🧠 7. Limits in Knowledge

  • Islam encourages seeking knowledge but recognizes the limits of human understanding, especially regarding divine matters:
    • “And they ask you about the soul. Say, ‘The soul is of the affair of my Lord…’” (Qur’an 17:85)

🕰️ 8. Limitations of Time and Life

  • Life is finite. Islam places a strong emphasis on making use of time wisely—for worship, relationships, and growth.
  • Death is a reminder of the ultimate accountability.
